I'm not really looking to 'spice up my salsa', yet, but this is quite hilarious.

Japanese Radio

Here you go, another way to kill your bandwidth with j-pop tunes in the air: Nozomi Radio. Since it uses flash media (like youtube) load times are fast and music doesn't break, unlike streaming audio. I'm doubting though if the music is whats currently on japanese airways, but you can still enjoy it. So, Enjoy!

Also, the sites got a decent image forum with Idol and Gravure models.

Starcraft 2

Wasn't a huge fan of the game play, but Starcraft's storyline was awesome! Prefer Command & Conquer style but I am looking forward to Starcraft 2. This interest of course came about after see this... lol

devilman... crap?

I had high hopes when I downloaded the live-action Devilman movie, anticipating some cool action-scenes and a decent plot but noooo... I made a big mistake and wasted a gig on some crappy movie, later to find out that it was 'universally' rejected by Japan, whatever that means, but you get the idea.

DON'T WATCH THE Tokatsu version of DEVILMAN (2002 I think?)!!!!!!!!!!! Not worth it, but... well... there was a cute girl in it... nahhhh, not worth even her.

I won't go into details as to why this movie sucked in so many ways. If you do happen to though, you're sucker just like me. Now to see if anyone has the anime or a translation of the manga...

Nendoroid!?!

These things are kinda cute. Doubt they are something I'd go out of my way to buy, but if ever I see them in a store, for cheap, yeah why not! Check these chibi-Death Note figurines from Good Smile Company:

Limited Edition Rider

I was fortunate enough to have this ordered while I was in singapore. A friend at Kareshi Kanojyo no Mise (a very cool anime store in singapore) helped me get around ordering this limited edition rider figure from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia which had to be done with a coupon from the Hobby Japan magazine.

I'm not too impressed by it overall, but the detail to her hair and face is what makes it worth it, and its limited edition!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, this will be the last anime figure I shall add to my collection, if not for a long time to come, ever again.

Click HERE for more pictures, but I warn you, there are 12 images which I didn't bother resizing and adding thumnails. They are all roughly 1024x XXXX sized. Enjoy!

Zombies, panties and the usual disintegration of society

Came across this rather mediocre but quite interesting manga, scanlated by some dudes who thought it was worth the effort, and it was. The name: "Highschool of the Dead"! I rather liked it, thus ending up reading the first 4 volumes till 3 am one night, and I don't like reading manga off a computer monitor.

I found the manga off 4chan, link being here (mind you this might not work in a couple of days or maybe hours). If you are interested and can't get at it, let me know.

Back to Anime

I've been missing out of new anime and haven't really been watching anythigns I've got, especially any of those on the list to the right. So, I thought I might as well get back to my downloading habits and get something. I'm too lazy to check out whats up and coming so I settled to for some 2006 titles:

Utawarerumono

Innocent Venus

Jigoku Shojo

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto

Code Geass

The last two are pretty new though Code Geass is almost over. I heard alot about Code Geass and was very interested in watching it, but somehow lost interest in obtaining episodes. I watched a bit of the first ep and it looks cool.

I just watched Innocent Venus' first ep and it looks promising. I was 'Your Moms' blog site checking for torrent files when music started to play. Searching for the name of the song, I found out it was from Utawarerumono and sung by Suara. A beautiful song with words in mind and her voice does the piece much credit. Now I remembered that I need to get the remaining episodes for Asatte no Hokou, which again has a song sung by Suara.

Bakumatsu was a download that I didn't know I had and upon watching it with friends I was wowed by it. Very cool idea about a crying sword. Just got ep two but I want to watch the first ep again cos I savour the first ep with people around. Youve really got to enjoy certian titles in a proper way with no jokes nor over-excitement from friends, other than from myself.

Theres supposed to be a sequel to Jigoku Shoujo - Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori

The end song for Innocent Venus, Brand New Reason by FLEET is what I'm listening to now as I'm typing this. Its nice ^ ^

Now I need to watch something else before I kill my eyes.

War

"Know your enemy and know yourself, and you shall always be victorious." - more or less what was said by Sun Tzu, Art of War but is translated in various forms.

The hardest part in that equation though is knowing oneself...

Nyan Nyan

Check out Nyan Nyan's new website. They are awesome when it comes to buying anime stuff, and at a very good price. I've been buying stuff from them since last year (I think) from their original Ebay service Nyan-Nyan-Store, and they've been great and very helpful. Highly, HIGHLY recommended for Australian anime fans!

Now they've got a website which looks pretty cool and looks like they're gaining popularity with the general otaku pulic.

All I can say about them, through personal experience is that their products are originals, I've never had any problems with them, super-helpful, are absolutely careful when sending stuff (like figures are packaged so nicely!) and and... very cool!

Now go on, click on their link and spend some money buying anime stuff... I unfortunately can't cos I spent a wee too much last year ^ ^

New... stuff

Well its been a while since my last, early morning post, but not being an otaku leads to these sort of things (which I'm happy I'm not).

A friend of mine mentioned something about a teacher being bustd over the act of Enjo Kosai in Japan (Shimane prefacture I think). I don't have any facts and haven't really checked up on it, but the first thing that hit me was GTO and Initial-D, along with 'Kamisama, mou sukoshi dake'. There was something about the two parties meeting on a 'daei site'. Anyway, heres the link to wikipedia's info on Enjo Kosai.

In other news, well there isn't any. I happened to flick the channels onto the Academy Awards? and the best adaptation award was on. With 'The Departed' winning, what kinda shocked me was the reference to the original HK movie 'Infernal Affairs' as a japanese movie. The nerve!

Finished watching the GTO drama series, or at least the 12 eps and not the special and movie. It was fun, and I recommend it to anyone, though I think people who've read the manga or watche the anime would not really like it since its a shortened version and changed quite a bit. I'm reading the manga series at the moment at a very slow pace as its in the manga library. Apparaently, wiki's page on GTO states that Tokyopop released info that the final ep of the GTO drama was the most watched ep of all time in Japan. I dunno if its true, but a fun ep it was.

*bloody pokemon music on winamp*

My eyes are hurting after so much time on NFS Most Wanted (xbox) and watching Ranma, GTO and other crazy stuff! Arrhhhhhh...

Overnight change

Before:
After:

Whew, was that a long night or what! Yeah yeah, there aren't that many posters and imagery, but for me, whoa thats alot! The whole thing started to play out after I started chopping up my Shirow Masamune calendars from 2005 and 2006. His work is awesome!

Well, that was fun except the rest of my rooms kinda empty now...

GTO

Sorimachi Takashi ROCKS!!!

Gaijin

Theres been a publication of a crazy magazine/book (aka "mook") in Japan discriminating foreigners and non-japanese residents, linking them to so called 'crimes'. Interesting stuff to come out. Its called "Gaijin Hanzai Ura Fairu" or Foreigner Underground Crime File.

Wish I could read japanese so I can order myself a copy. I first read this at Heisei Democracy (I'll put in the link soon) and when I looked at the back cover, I was kinda surprised. A little known country called Sri Lanka was included. Guess whose Sri Lankan?

After a few seconds that fact didn't really sound shocking, as I kinda know what people really are capable of, unfortunately, but I won't go too much into that part of this story. But, nonetheless this mook seems to be a total load of crap.

In my opinion, theres alot of uneasiness and insecurity that comes with having foreigners in one's own country, town, area etc. bla blah. Alot of consideration should be taken into account before acting towards this sort of dicriminatory publication, especially if one is a foreigner.

Its an interesting situation to come out of Japan, so have a search on it. Belows' a link to someone I really don' know does what O_o, but its about boycotting Family Mart (a 7/11 type store-chain in Japan. Man, they were a god-send when it came to eating cheap!).

Boycott Link

Oh, oh this is a better link to read. More detailed account ^^ Click Here!

NOVA Arrests

Kinda glad I didn't visit Roppongi during that time, though I wanted to check out the crazy humongus spider sculpture.

2 Meter EVA 01

Found this on the Anime News Network about a 2 meter tall Evangelion model for sale, at around 1 million yen. Very cool

While checking the pictures at the second link above I noticed all the new Evangelion mechandise. Thats actually a very nice Kotobukiya show, which I didn't notice until my 4th or 5th evening in Akihabara. It was right in front of one of the train station exits. It was exciting to be inside 'the' Kotobukiya shop, but you could definitely find their stuff at a better price elsewhere in Akiba.

Man if I didn't spend so much money last year, I'd be getting ready to get me some of those figures, especially this one:

*hehe I can't seem to find it now... let me upload it later... actually I don't know where it is, so I think this clip will do the trick*

Ninja Scroll 2 !?!

I can't really believe this. A few months ago AnimeDB.net showed Ninja Scroll as having a sequel, but not the TV series. There was another link shown as Juubee Ninpuuchou 2. This link was later removed.

I didn't find anything on the net after a little browsing, but look what I've found. I just watched the trailer for the new Highlander anime movie, Highlander: Vengence and under the website's cast & crew section with director Yoshiaki Kawajiri's portfolio states... *takes a deep breath*... Ninja Scroll 2 - 2005, in production!!!!

YES!!!... but I hope they don't screw it up by putting in a studip story arc and bringing in ridiculous characters :(

*and exhales*...

Agent Aika Prequel

For those who are familiar with the very short-skirted and heavily female dominated anime 'Agent Aika', you might be interested to know that the series prequel is just around the corner. I'm watching the original series at the moment and its a rather entertaining 90's anime. I recommend it for those of you who like alot of fan-service and a story to go with it. Artworks pretty good too!

Here are the links from AnimeDB.net: AIka and AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission (Prequel)

What Happens When Gundams Get Lost in EVA Land?

They get small jobs in the local area, since they can't really compete with the Evangelion Units. The picture below was taken at the local school. The Gundam unit refused to comment...
