A Happy Kappa?

Regardless of what little I know about Kappas, I recently visited a somewhat popular and unique Japanese noodle bar that goes by the name 'Happy Kappa Japanese'. Starting off to write something detailed and informative, I'm tired and its 5 AM, so heres the gist of it.

The food isn't worth the price and its very mediocre. Being a fan of Japanese cuisine and having visited a fair number of Japanese bars and restaurants, this isn't really worth the visit. The decor and environment are cool and all with a lot of Japanese ornaments and stuff, but with the lack of people and liveliness, its a dull place to have dinner with your girlfriend. And this is case for both their branches in Richmond and Brunswick.

Verdict: might have been the wrong day and time, but in both my visits to their branches, it was the same. Below average food not worth the cost nor the atmosphere.

Position of radiobutton / checkbox inputs

An issue I keep forgetting to resolve is the positioning of radiobuttons and checkboxes. The problem specifically being their vertical misalignment against the text for each input. I've tried dealing with this by changing margins and such, but versions of IE and firefox will render them differently, even being contributed by other factor (unknown to me thus far).

Solution (as far as I can think, and found):

vertical-align: middle;

Try that and see if it solves your alignment issue. Funny thing is, I found this solution a year ago and then forgot it when I really needed it >.<

A different take

I'm about to revamp this little blog, and put it to good use by putting content that I'm into, and something or so anyone else would find useful... and lets say, I got a bit of inspiration = )

A Happy New Year people, its 2008 and the year of the Rat! Its my year and I'm thinking its time I up the stakes with, well, a lot of things. Theres gonna be a lot of changes but none of which I'll bother those who actually read this blog. This is funny. I wrote a bit on the purpose of this blog and what it won't have, and then I thought, hey thats not the way to start off the first post for the new year, put it down somewhere, ish hehe... if interested, its at the end lol.

Anyway, a lot of stuffs happened since my last post. Found some awesome songs, very cool youtube videos, pictures, and books! (omg I'm actually reading), and other stuff... Yes theres more to my life than those items mentioned before :)

Firstly, for all intents and purposes, the following items are not mine! I'm simply posting them, even if they may seem to appear on my laptop :P

Songs! Well I really didn't find heaps but got a couple of recommendations that you should try. Very nice stuff:

• She will be loved (Live Ver.) - Maroon 5 : I think this is from their MTV Unplugged performance, which is an awesome version. Originally didn't like the song, but this acoustic ver. is sweet!
• California dreamin' - Queen Latifah (The Dana Owens Album)

Those three songs quite conveniently kept me up at around 3 am, even though I had to wake up 2 hours later to catch a bus to Malaysia! But I was happy to listen to them, cos I was wishing I could stay in Singapore a bit longer for certain reasons than going that day itself, but the songs helped, neko neko... and I had heaps fun meeting my friends in KL!

Anyway, more songs:

• Back here - BB Mak : Fun fun fun!!! makes me dance everytime (and only when I'm alone in my room or in my car LOL... yes yes even as I'm writing it now, I'm listening+dancing+singing)

I'm getting back into Jazz with more variety than when I tried Diana Krall a couple of years ago, and its sounding very nice this time. A few reasons for the comeback, but lets say its a good thing to do so. Btw the opening for Requiem From The Darkness is jazz and very, very cool. Its The Flame by Keiko Lee. Thanks for the recommendation James!

Anime! I almost forgot about what the better part of my university life brought me. I honestly haven't been watching as much as I used to, but I think the moods coming back. I'm trying a few new titles which I think may prove to be worthy entrants to 2008, but mind you this is my personal taste which I believe is nothing compared to the general anime fanbase.

I didn't go through my usual survery of anime, these are just titles I found randomly and thought were worth the effort of watching. I'm getting old to actually go out into the net and do some research on whats out there.

Funny thing, I was trying to watch something via my modded Xbox (whose sole purpose is playing anime from my hard-disk through to the tv :P) when I couldn't actually get my shared folders to work... I needed a reboot but I was using my machine for something else, hence I popped in my copy of Comic Party which had some random single eps on it. Strangely I watched Kashimashi~Girl Meets Girl~ and I loved the first ep. Its nothing like what I thought it was about, and was wondering why I avoided watching it!!!! So yeah, thats on my 'to-watch' list atm too :)

Other than that, Requiem From The Darkness, Princess Resurrection (which should be Monster Resurrection by what Daein says), and some other random anime should be the highlights of my limited anime lifestyle for the moment.

Japanese Radio

Here you go, another way to kill your bandwidth with j-pop tunes in the air: Nozomi Radio. Since it uses flash media (like youtube) load times are fast and music doesn't break, unlike streaming audio. I'm doubting though if the music is whats currently on japanese airways, but you can still enjoy it. So, Enjoy!
