Haha

Been having 'heaps' of trouble with my macbook and netgear router, and voila: a solution :)

I'm guessing it does work, but who know. Will update this post if it doesn't.

BTW goodbye twitter. Just deactivated my twitter account ._.

Botti-ness

Hehe, haha, lol… I got to shake hands with Chris Botti after one of his gigs in Melbourne, and also got a signed copy of one of his albums. It was a great show and had some great moments, especially meeting the man himself and getting to speak to him.

I was hoping for A Thousand Kisses Deep to be performed, but Botti’s rendition of Hallelujah was absolutely magnificent! An awesome highlight for the evening. That cover itself is a beautiful addition to the original song’s legacy.

Now I just need to get the signed CD into a frame and hang it on my wall XD

After two days off being ill, I come back to this at my desk:

To Flickr, or not to Flickr

I'm not really liking some of the features not provided by Flickr. I was simply wanting to link some images I uploaded via my Ipod, but nope, URLs to the images are not allowed. Meh, I cheated and got the URL to one of them, but thats not the point.

I'm seriously considering taking down that account. Whats the point if I can't have access to the original images, until I get a paid Pro account >.<

Conversation

Its a humble conversation between trees and cars. Pretty cute when you look at it that way. This picture by far came out with the best meaning I could've got from most of the pictures I've been taking as of recently, and ironically I took it with my Ipod.

Pillar of Salt

Had breakfast at Pillar of Salt on Church street in South Yarra today. As usual, i had my Eggs Atlantic, but it wasn't too impressive. It had thin slices or green apple, which made the overall taste somewhat sweet, O_o

The Eggs Atlantic... and apple?!?!

books galore

Just purchased Volumes 7 - 9 of Hunter D. Book Depository and Booko FTW!

Its funny how these days its so easy to find books at excellent prices as opposed to a few years ago when I had to pay heaps, especially for uni text books. Its amazing how the market has turned around to favor buyers in last couple of years.

SLR phase

Tired to the bone. Literally. My knees are aching from some dodgy game play with squash and training. Solution involves rest and more rest, but taking into account that I've been up for that last 38 hours with only an hours worth of shut eye, I'm not getting enough.

But...

With my loverly brother's SLR camera (lent for a few months hehee), my first shot! >,<

Jazz fever

I was lucky enough to notice a poster for a one-night only show featuring Richard Bona and his group, presenting their latest Ten Shades of the Blues album. It was a must see, and frankly, it was an awesome performance, and surprisingly enough, the support act was absolutely amazing. They simply swept me off my feet. They were, Alex and Nilusha! Highly recommended and I'm definitely going to be following them since they are Melbourne based.

Nonetheless, the performance was at the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall at the Melbourne Recital Centre and it was boasting quite a beautiful interior and the music was so crisp. Didn't hang around for the signing of CDs, but I'm regretting not buying their album. JB Hifi don't have it yet >.<

Capital Kitchen serves poor coffee

Capital Kitchen @Chadstone

Simply put:
  • Coffee - burnt and bad. No sense of presentation or quality
  • Atmosphere - nice decor and lively seating
  • Staff - dull as ever, obviously bleeding into the quality of service. Went on a Sunday, and I guess staff don't really want to be there
Rating: 2/5

HuTong, Prahran - missing something?

They do not serve congee on their Yum Cha menu!!!

... but I really don't care because I don't eat congee. But the food is nonetheless overpriced and not worth your time, and their service is rude and judgmental. Try their CBD branch, is much better and made of win.

News

oh btw, I've got a new job, moved into a new place and am single >.< Hates the last part

Android-i-ness

I'm wondering what I can do with my android phone and the possibility of developing something vaguely interesting, with my limited programming knowledge. I've installed the SDK and pluggins and all the usual starting points, and even tried teh 'hello world' tut, and its looking good. But what the hell am I going to build???

Rather stupidly, I used to bag on about how silly the 'hello world' process is, but strangely enough, it was very usual in getting my into doing something that could've possible deterred me from the entire process. Its a simple method of giving people the opportunity to try something out. Strange how a little thing like 'hello world' can change a persons opinion about something.

Anyways, got plans, FOR NOTHING, to build on. I was thinking of a torrent management app but thats already there for people to download. Building a customised train travel app is totally unoriginal, but the only app available for android 1.6 is somewhat, limiting. But I need a dream. My dream. Silly me.

So, hopefully this little endeavor keeps this blog a little active :)

squash... pain

or is it pain, squash... played squash tonight and its starting to ache. I'm an unfit individual. Not looking forward to the pay tomorrow night either T_T

hmmmm... want to type something new, or interesting, but nothing comes to mind other than that I've got a bunch of COMICS to read! Hopefully they don't keep me up tonight.
